Linked Chain Stitch Basics, Volume 1

This book, the first in a planned series of books on the new linked chain stitch, contains step-by-step instructions. The book has over 15 patterns, including 5 amulet bags. Instructions are also included for a spiral rope chain that merges well with the linked chain. How to read linked chain stitch graphs is covered, and several sheets of linked chain graph paper are included in the back of the book so that beaders can try designing their own patterns.

Shown below are three examples of the patterns in the book, to give you an idea of how the linked chain stitch looks beaded. (Note: Each of the small pictures below is a link to a larger image if you wish to see more detail.)

Tri-V The Tri-V pattern in Delica Beads (colors 352, 880, and 881) make this amulet bag perfect for those who love purple! Of course, if you're not fond of purple, use your favorites instead. (Patterns also included for matching bracelet and earrings.)

Cool Mint Delight The soft, pearly colors of Delicas 201 and 238 form the delicate pattern for this amulet bag, enhanced by the freshwater pearls hanging from the flap and fringe.

Mad for Metallics This pattern uses three different colors of silver-lined beads. The finished piece sparkles madly and adds an elegant touch to any outfit. The body of the bag uses the linked chain stitch, and blends beautifully with the spiral rope strap.
